matcha

matcha is a finely ground powder made from specially grown and processed green tea leaves, known as tencha. It is known for its vibrant green color, unique flavor, and numerous health benefits.

unlike regular green tea, where leaves are steeped in water and discarded, matcha involves consuming the whole tea leaf, which is finely ground into a powder. this results in a more concentrated and earthy flavor with higher nutritional content.

matcha is rich in antioxidants, particularly catechins, which can help reduce inflammation and protect against chronic diseases. it also contains L-theanine, which promotes relaxation without drowsiness, and a moderate amount of caffeine for a gentle energy boost.

store matcha in airtight, light-blocking containers in a cool, dry place. our tin cans work perfectly.

when stored properly, Matcha can last up to one year, though it is best consumed within two months of opening.

on average, one teaspoon of matcha contains approximately 65-70 mg of caffeine. it has around one third to half the caffeine content of a cup of brewed coffee. the combination of caffeine and the amino acid L-theanine in matcha provides a calm yet alert state of mind.

we recommend using water around 80°C / 176°F.

hojicha

hojicha is a roasted green tea made from the leaves, stems, and twigs of the tea plant. it has a distinct toasty, nutty flavor and is lower in caffeine compared to other green teas.

hojicha is known for its calming properties due to its low caffeine content. it also contains antioxidants and can aid in digestion due to its warm, soothing nature.

store Hojicha in airtight, light-blocking containers in a cool, dry place. our tin cans work perfectly.

when stored properly, hojicha powder can last up to a year, though it is best consumed within three months of opening.

on average, one teaspoon of our hojicha powder contains approximately 20-25 mg of caffeine. it has around one fifth to one eighth the caffeine content of a cup of brewed coffee.

all our matcha and hojicha are sourced from directly family-owned farms across various regions in japan, such as Shizuoka, Uji, and Yame. please check out product bios for more detail.

yes, our matcha and hojicha products are gluten-free and vegan.

no, our matcha and hojicha products do not contain any artificial additives or sweeteners.

our Classic Matcha and Signature Hojicha are sourced from organic tea farms certified under JAS equivalence, meeting USDA (U.S.), CFIA (Canada), and JAS (Japan) organic standards. while the farms and teas themselves are certified organic, Emeri is currently in the process of obtaining NOP (National Organic Program) certification as a company.

if you don’t have traditional tools, you can still use an electric frother or a small whisk to prepare matcha. simply sift the powder into a cup, add hot water, and whisk until frothy. please note that without a bamboo whisk, the matcha may be clumpier and less foamy.

we offer free standard shipping on orders over $100 CAD within Canada and over $125 USD within the United States.

orders below these thresholds are subject to the following standard shipping fees:

$8.95 CAD for Canadian orders
$15.00 USD for U.S. orders

U.S. customers may also select Priority Express Shipping for a flat rate of $35.00 USD, regardless of order value. this service provides faster delivery and is not eligible for free shipping promotions. For refunds (according to our Refunds and Return Policy), the standard shipping fee and any applicable taxes will be deducted from the final return amount.

As of the White House executive order on November 13, 2025, green tea including matcha and hojicha is no longer subject to tariffs. There are now 0 percent duties at checkout for all U.S. orders.
