Product Details

in japanese, okawari (お代わり) is a phrase commonly heard during a delicious meal — it means “seconds” or “refill”, as in asking for another serving from the host. it reflects a desire to return to something delicious, and that’s exactly the feeling this matcha evokes from the very first sip.

sourced from the mineral-rich fields of Yame, Fukuoka, Okawari is a bold and flavorful blend of multiple cultivars, carefully crafted for everyday enjoyment. its deep nutty character and savory umami richness create a satisfying usucha, while its strength and nuttiness also shine beautifully through milk in a latte. full-bodied and inviting, it’s a matcha to reach for again and again.

New go-to !

I've been trying out different brands of matcha and was looking specifically for a Canadian company to support. I drink it straight (usucha) and occasionally with a little bit of milk on top, and mostly iced. It is bold, smooth, has great umami and very little astringency. I love it. It is replacing my usual Ippodo order for sure as my go-to daily matcha.

Delicious matcha! Love the nutty flavor profile, and makes a fantastic matcha latte!

I regularly order matcha from Japan (huge lover of Ippodo), having lived there for 3 years and having studied tea ceremony I can be a bit particular about my matcha so I'm nervous to try new companies - but due to the matcha shortage resulting in limited supplies, restock issues and and drastic price increases, I had heard fantastic things about Emeri's Okawari Ceremonial Matcha so decided to deviate from my normal order.

I am so glad I did, the flavor profile is exactly as described bold. nutty. roasty and I have absolutely been loving using this matcha powder to make matcha lattes. It is a beautiful vibrant bold green - and can even hold its flavor profile when paired with fruity matcha lattes (ex: mango matcha lattes or strawberry matcha lattes) to my great delight.

I recommend a ratio of 5g matcha / 50g 80*C temperature water / 225g milk ratio for a delicious & rich matcha latte <3

As a side note: As this matcha is less "grassy" and "umami" tasting with low astringency, I think it would be a *really* great matcha for beginners who are still getting into matcha.
